Soldier Hollow

I'm a sucker for rainbows, so when we got this submission it made my day! I've never been to Soldier Hollow, but now I think I need to.

Saint George

I was so glad I had decided to take my camera while out for a family bike ride because there was the prettiest Sunset on our way back.  We had decided to ride down to the Canyon Softball Park because they have a pond where you can go to feed the ducks. My kids love it!

Grafton

Grafton is a ghost town just south of Zion National Park. I haven't been since I was just a teenager, but have wanted to go back many times. It was first settled in 1859 and still has the most beautiful views around. It has actually been in several big Hollywood movies!

Mueller Park Trail

On the same outing that I was taking pictures of Bountiful, I came across this fun little hike. It is located just outside of Mueller State Park, right before a little guard shack/fee station.  It is free to hike this though, so that was awesome! Though the fee to enter the State Park is only $5 for day use, so if you feel so inclined to explore even more it's not very expensive.

It starts out at this little bridge, which my girls thought was the neatest thing ever! There were lots of women out taking their little kids hiking, so it seems to be a pretty popular spot.

Change In Post Frequency

Hey Everybody, Just giving you all a heads up that our posting schedule is going to be slowing down a bit. Angie and I are both busy Mamas and our submission's are not as frequent as we need them to be. Which means that we either slow down to a few posts a week, or overwork ourselves trying to cover enough content to have a fresh location up every single day. We still would love to have enough submissions to share every day, but until then, we'll be doing the best we can to share the beauty of our home state. Thanks for your understanding. ~Sarah and Angie

Veyo

I have mentioned Veyo in a few of my other posts here and here because it usually ends up being a quick stop while we are camping.  I think it is often overlooked because it is so small, but it has some really fun attractions that I wanted to share with you.

Bountiful

Bountiful has got to be one of the prettier towns I've ever seen. The views are breath-taking and I am more than a little jealous of the multi-million dollar home owners that live along the top of the mountain. Not kidding, the second I got home after this outing I hopped on my computer to see what the homes up there were going for and decided I'd just have to chalk owning a home up there to a total fantasy.

Since the town is mostly just a series of hills, it's a good thing that my husband replaced the thermostat in my car or I wouldn't have even been able to drive around. The hills are so steep in some areas that I honestly wonder how the locals are able to get around in the winter.

Sandy Balloon Festival

In just a couple or so weeks, there is an awesome balloon festival taking place in Sandy!  I wanted to share these with you all a little early so that there is plenty of time to plan a trip to check it out.

These photos are a submission from Roxanna Scow.

Gila Trail

The Gila trail is one of the many trails in the Snow Canyon State Park, but just happens to be on the Eastern boundary in the parks no fee area...a definite plus in my book.

Ivins Reservoir

Ivins Reservoir is another great place that I discovered a few years back, but haven't been for awhile.
I had forgotten how pretty it is with the Red Mountains as a background.

Grantsville

What an awesome day it was to go take pictures for this post! The clouds looked so amazing and just as I was taking shots of the last spot, it started to rain so I ended up taking a couple from my car with the window open because I didn't want to hurt my camera.

I don't know much about Grantsville, other than my great-grandfather used to work in the town before he moved to Southern Utah. I do find myself thinking about him every time I go there.

Free Image Friday, Cedar Mountain

It's that time again folks! Time for "Free Image Friday" where we share one free (for personal use only) image each week for download. We will show you a watermarked version of the picture, and then provide the link on where to go to download the un-watermarked version. For the link, check below!

I snapped this photo on my way up Cedar Mountain the other day. It is one of my favorite drives because of the beautiful scenery, but also not so favorite because of the winding roads. It is worth it though.

Tobin Wash

Tobin Wash is another one of my personal favorite camping spots. I love it because you are just out in the open meaning there are no designated camping spots. There are also so many places to ride your ATV's and beautiful scenery to go with it. I actually snapped these photos while out for a quick ride.

Parowan

I haven't really spent much time in Parowan, mostly just to pass through, but it is really pretty! I love how much darker the red dirt is that is peeking through the greenery on the hills.

This town had quite the unexpected surprise!!!

Kanarraville

I've always wanted to live in Kanarraville, and occasionally look to see if there are any realty listings there. I like that it is near the freeway, but not so close that the noise would be a nuisance. It's gorgeous, small enough that I would feel comfortable, AND close enough to Cedar City that it wouldn't be a hassle to drive to "town" to get necessities.  Did I mention that they get snow? I'm not sure how much, but after having lived in Northern Utah for just under a decade, I'd sure miss it if I were ever to move back down South.

Pine Park

What I love about this site and receiving other peoples submissions is, I get to see a lot of Utah that I haven't seen before. I have lived here my whole entire life and still have so much to see. This is another submission from Casey Stratton and what I found unique about it was that you get so used to seeing all of the red rock in Southern Utah, but with Pine Park it is bright white rocks and sand. Definitely a change in scenery from what I am used to.

Gunlock State Park

The family and I headed out for a quick drive yesterday and decided to check out Gunlock State Park. When I have been there in the past, it has always been during the off season and deserted. Boy was I surprised by the amount of people there. It is definitely a popular spot!

Hurricane

Hurricane is absolutely gorgeous! I may be a bit biased though, seeing how that is where I was raised and I have red dirt coursing through my veins(Angie was raised there too). I wasn't able to take as many pictures as I wanted this last trip down, because of the heat and dragging kids around in a hot car all day wasn't really an option. But I still wanted to show you some of my favorite views of the area.

Anyway, these were taken the last week of June this year. Hurricane is home to Quail Creek State Park and Sand Hollow State Park, so make sure to check out those previous posts. I'm sure I will be showing more of Hurricane later on as well.

Free Image Friday, Tooele County

It's that time again folks! Time for "Free Image Friday" where we share one free (for personal use only) image each week for download. We will show you a watermarked version of the picture, and then provide the link on where to go to download the un-watermarked version. For the link, check below!

This photo was taken a couple of weeks ago on Highway 73 in Tooele County near five mile pass. The sky was so clear that day, it was crazy! Though I do wish we had some pretty clouds in the shot. It's been pretty wet lately, so it is much greener than normal this year.~Sarah

Mount Dutton

Mount Dutton is a popular hunting location and just about every year my brother draws out here for the Elk hunt. He has hiked so much of this mountain and was kind enough to share a few beautiful photos from the top.

Navajo Lake

Navajo Lake is another site that I have driven by a handful of times and have never gotten a closer look at. It is visible from the road as you are traveling to Duck Creek, but you do have to drive a little ways down to get to it from the main highway. After checking it out up close, I think it may be a regular stop from now on.
